Position:

FLEET AND EQUIPMENT MANAGER

Location: Wildomar, CA – DLC Main Yard

Summary:  The Equipment Manger’s responsibilities include the scheduling, maintaining, and dispatching of all equipment and small tools. This includes the tracking and knowledge of the company’s assets at all times. This requires exceptional organization and communication skills with the Project Managers, Superintendents, and Job Foreman. In conjunction with these responsibilities, the Equipment Manager is also the CHP recognized Terminal Manager for all commercial vehicles. The Terminal Manager assumes the responsibilities of all the Biennial Inspection of Terminals (B.I.T.) Program requirements such as the appropriate compilation of Vehicle Condition Reports, Driver Logs, CHP 90 Day Inspection Logs (including service, repair, and inspection sheets), and any other documents and/or records specified by the CHP Inspector. The Equipment Manager must schedule and be present on the day of the B.I.T. inspection with the appropriate personnel. The Equipment Manager oversees, manages, and regulates multiple systems and programs such as the fleet maintenance program, lock/key system, and the constant analysis of the repair budget. Other miscellaneous job responsibilities include C.A.R.B., DMV, CHP, OSHA and HAZMAT compliance as well as any other fees, regulations, laws, and/or penalties that the company may be subject to regarding equipment including damage, theft, or employee negligence/misconduct. Lastly, all employees are expected to keep their workspaces clean and neat: It is the responsibility of ALL COMPANY EMPLOYEES (including officers, owners, managers, etc.) to pick up trash regardless of who left it there.  This reflects the beliefs of our company’s slogan “Building Today for a Greener Tomorrow”.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of vehicle & equipment Administration
  • Broad and detailed understanding of C.A.R.B., CHP, OSHA, and HAZMAT
  • Knowledge of Class A, B, and C rules and regulations
  • Manage and monitor all vehicle and equipment utilization information to determine scheduled maintenance and acquisition needs
  • Approve all purchases/invoices in compliance with DLC policy pertaining to repairs and maintenance of  vehicles and equipment
  • Establish rental values for company vehicles/equipment to include billing and back charges for abuse.  Supply projects with rental equipment when company vehicles/equipment are not available
  • Inspect and review all vehicle and equipment damage
  • Conduct safety inspections of the vehicle maintenance repair area, ensuring that we are adhering to all environmental standards
  • In coordination with the company president develop and implement a turnover policy
  • Assist with the utilization of company fuel usage

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of vehicle and equipment utilization and repair
  • Experience operating, loading, unloading equipment
  • Class A License
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Punctual
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office system (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Technology including tablets, EXCEL, WORD, mobile devices, etc.
  • Exceptional detail oriented communication and organizational skills
  • Team building and goal oriented leadership qualities using a proactive approach

 

Education/Experience/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish)
  • Minimum six months to 1 year of relevant experience
  • Pass a drug, DMV, criminal and E-Verify
